In 1903 Cesare Battisti and Riccardo Trentin reached at the dawn of Trentino mountaineering the Roda of Spaloti peak: a vertical drop of nearly 2,000 meters on a limestone rock wall. Since then this route has been called Canalone Battisti. The Cesare Battisti refuge, on the other hand, was completed in 1908, while the cave later named after him was discovered in 1929. In this way you will come to the panoramic viewing area of Canalone Battisti: with an exciting view of the Valle dell’Adige, which really does look like a perfect picture postcard!
EAGLE’S THRONE

From the Paganella peak at 2,125 meters above sea level, follow the signs to go to the Eagle Trail along which, in 30 minutes, you will reach the Battisti Canalone from where the Ferrata delle Aquile starts. Here you can decide whether to reach the Eagle Throne, continuing the Trail, or whether you prefer to do the Ferrata.

THOMAS CHURCH IN CAVEDAGO

On a panoramic hill above the village of Cavedago, looking over the Non Valley (Valle di Non) and surrounded by the Brenta Dolomites, is the ancient church of St Thomas the Apostle, built on a strategic point on an ancient Roman road which connected the Anaunia with the Giudicarie. The small church of St Thomas draws its interesting architecture, but above all its relationship with the landscape. The field next to the Pieve allows you to look out over the valley adorned with vineyards and apple orchards, immersed in silence.
