This year’s edition of the MOC Tour will be special. Not only will we be celebrating 20 years of MOC, but there will be unique destinations chosen especially in memory of Nik Manfredi, famous singer and songwriter, authour of “You and Me”, which can be considered the international anthem of our sport.
From 24th March, in fact, the Tour will move to Calabria, Nik’s homeland, where a series of stages will take us back to the places of our legend.
Among the activities on the tour are:
Wine and food tasting in Cirò at the Librandi estate, one of the region’s most renowned wine producers and a symbol of Calabrian oenology. As well as being a place of great value, the winery also has a special significance: it was the destination where Nicola and Gabriele Viale, team manager of the PWT, would go to enjoy a good glass in company.
And there’s more. March 26th will be Nik Manfredi Day: the MOC Tour will move to Savelli, the singer-songwriter’s hometown, where the last stage of the Tour will take place.
The Tour will visit his grave with a dedicated ceremony and a remembrance prepared by Jörgen Mårtensson, then there will be an orienteering competition on the map surveyed by Claes Nideborn (who will also be present for the occasion) and will close with a music party in honour of Nik, as he would have wished.
