In the heart of southern Italy, on a hilltop overlooking the Ionian Sea, Rotondella stands out for its unmistakable circular layout. A veritable ring of alleys and narrow streets that will test orienteers of all levels. Precision and quick route selection will make all the difference!
Orienteering in Rotondella: what you need to know:
- The circular routes and the difference in altitude, with steps and small passages, will make your race super spicy and challenging; it is common for orienteers to get nervous and not understand which lane they have ended up in: it is therefore important to have a strategy and, above all, patience.
- Train yourself to stop: take a deep breath and start again. It’s the last thing you want to do in an orienteering race, but it’s definitely the smartest thing to do.
- Breathtaking scenery: the hill of Rotondella offers a spectacular view of the Calabrian countryside and the Ionian Sea. Be sure to watch the sunset from here!
- A tough but rewarding workout: ideal for improving technique and speed in an unusual setting.

As a bonus stop on the MOC Tour, after Savelli, an unmissable location in the heart of southern Italy has been added. Can you guess which one? Just a hint: its cuisine is world-renowned for being absolutely spatial.
