Yesterday, Sunday 11th June, the Italian Knock Out Championships were held in Avio in the province of Trento, where Annarita Scalzotto was crowned Italian Vice Champion 2023.
According to the qualification race (RESULTS), which took place the day before in Volano (TN), five PWT ITALIA athletes made it to the elimination rounds: Giulia Dissette, Alessandro Bedin, Katiuscia Sibiglia, Celeste Nike Pretto and Annarita Scalzotto. At the end of a physically demanding day Giulia Dissette stopped in the Semifinals, while Annarita Scalzotto won the Final – dominating both the Quarters and the Semifinals – winning silver just 3″ behind Caterina Dallera.

Annarita Scalzotto: “I am very happy with how I handled myself, both mentally and physically; I challenged myself and tested some strategies, it was the right time to do it. I felt a bit physically tired before the start, but I had enough to keep up with my opponents and give everything in the final.”

She has recently come out of a complicated period between injuries and a study period abroad, but the podium yesterday was in her sights and thanks to a winning race strategy she managed to achieve a great and significant result for our club.”
