International Orienteering on Monte Baldo – Lake Garda

PWT Italia, in collaboration with Funivie del Baldo, the Municipalities of Brenzone and San Zeno di Montagna, the Faculty of Sport Sciences of the University of Verona, Orientexpress Verona and PromoE20, has organized two wonderful high altitude stages in the province of Verona. The first was held at an altitude of 1550 meters, with a meeting point at the Turri refuge, which involved the ascent of all the athletes by basket lift. The second was held in Pralongo in a mixed beech forest with great technical and competitive value.

After the success of the 2023 European Championships, which saw Prada among the locations of the EOC tour – European Orienteering Championship, enjoying great visibility in the countries of northern Europe, the three-year program of orienteering development continues in the Baldo area with the 2 days of Monte Baldo, which is candidate for 2 stages of Coppia Italia in 2025.

Gabriele Viale – President PWT Italia SSD  “Orienteering on Baldo is an important project for those who care about orienteering in general because we have created a new area for orienteering, with the new map of the spectacular Pralongo beech forest. With these two days, the territory and the institutions have begun to gain further awareness of what Orienteering is and have seen first-hand the presence of people who come from abroad for this discipline!

For us it was an important test to understand the critical issues with a view to the 2025 Italian Cup”.
