PWT ITALIA’S 2025 SO FAR

5 Feb 2025 - Elite Team, Attività

The year 2025 started with a month full of news from the Park World Tour Italy team. Here is a round-up of the main ones.

Domina Running Experience

From 12 to 19 January, some athletes took part in the Domina Running Experience, the first week of training focused on running organised by PWT Italia. Domina Coral Bay is one of the main resorts in Sharm el-Sheikh, on the Red Sea coast; a vast place that hosts up to 3000 guests from all over the world. The athletes who participated returned home satisfied: “it was truly a unique training camp: we explored beautiful places and unique nature reserves, and not only that: we experienced them running, literally”.

Orienteers’ favourite saturday night: VENOTTE

On Saturday 1 February, the PWT athletes took to the streets of Venice for the Veneto Night Sprint Championship; navigating this unique city is an exciting challenge, and doing it at night makes the game even more fun.
That is why Giulia Dissette, Celeste Pretto, Jessica Lucchetta, Katiuscia Sibiglia and Pierantonio Pretto did not let themselves be frightened by the wet and dark cold on Saturday night and put themselves on the line in the most beautiful sprint of all, achieving excellent results, all in the top10.

CONI’s sporting merit

Busy day, Saturday! Because, in addition to the Veneto night championship, there was the ceremony for the presentation of the Benemerenze sportive in the Vicenza area and throughout the Veneto region. This was an important recognition: authorities, athletes, teams and sports technicians from the province of Vicenza were guests at Palazzo Baggio, in the municipality of Marostica, and received the medal for athletic valour. PWT certainly could not miss it: our athletes, Annarita Scalzotto for the province of Vicenza and Jessica Lucchetta for Treviso, collected their medal for meritorious achievements in the year 2022.

Cross country season

Last but not least, yet another excellent result in the competitive field. Literally, in the field. On Sunday 2 February, Francesco Scalzotto, class of 2008, competed in the 13th Cross Villa Imperiale, in Galliera Veneta, finishing the 5 km cross-country race in 18’10‘’, and securing tenth place. This is a promising result in a race speciality that also proves to be excellent as preparation for woodland races.
